The Balamurugan Temple is 2000 years old and now it was renovated and maintained by the villagers. A deep foot print considered as that of Lord Muruga is seen on a stone nearby the temple as if pressed on sand. Another rock nearby, looks as if a peacock is holding a snake in its mouth.
These are still visible even today. A spring is ever flowing even during hot summer, revered as the sacred spring of the temple.
Next interesting sight in Kathavu Malai Sivan Temple which is situated at the height of 1,670 meters above the sea level and this is highest mountain peak. The Geranium trekking which covers the trekking starting from the resort to the kathavu malai. Either you can visit these by vehicle or you can prefer the trekking. If you prefer the trekking you can have different enjoyment along with the nature.
The second part of sight-seeing starts with the Regional Coffee Research Station (RCRS), Thandigudi which is one of the Research Centre for the coffee plantation in India. By visiting this place you can get information about the various coffee plantations which are cultivated in and around Thandikudi and all over India.
From the RCRS we have two places to visit, Maruthanathi Dam view point and other one is Pullaveli Falls in thandikudi. From the Maruthanathi Dam view point in Thandikudi, the entire look of this dam will be very pleasant. Maruthanathi Dam in Thandikudi is situated near Ayyampalayam, a small village situated under the foot hill of Thandikudi hills.
The Dam was built in 1975 and these Dam serve as water source for both agriculture and drinking water for the nearby villages such as Ayyampalayam, Pattiveeranpatti, Sithrevu and Kombipatti panchayats. The next place is Pullaveli Waterfalls which is formed from the small streams from the forest and an awesome place to visit and one can have a good trekking experience too.
